Shab

Artist
Shab is a Franco-Iranian artist born and based in Strasbourg, France. Since September 2022, she has been depicting the radiant resilience of Iranian women in their uprising, fighting for democracy and against gender apartheid in Iran. Inspired by the world’s first feminist revolution—one supported by men in Iran—Shab uses her art to amplify their voices, combat violence and inequality, and share their stories in solidarity with collectives, organizations, and conferences worldwide. Believing that violence against women and girls knows no geographic or cultural boundaries, she calls on others to refuse complicity, to amplify the voices of those fighting for justice, and to stand as defenders of human rights. For Shab, their struggle and future are inseparable from our own. Through her drawings, she seeks to unite more people around the universal movement of Woman, Life, Freedom, raising awareness of the resilience and strength of Iranian women who continue to inspire the world. As a victim of patriarchy herself, her art is both an act of resistance and a path to healing. She firmly believes that together, we can reclaim our humanity, foster understanding, and envision a peaceful world for all. Together, we are stronger. ✊🏼 Give them a voice. #womanlifefreedom
